Dental Veneers Placement
Placing porcelain dental veneers typically requires two visits to our Manhattan office: one to prepare the teeth and a second to place the veneers. Dr. Rubinstein begins each visit by administering a local anesthetic, which virtually eliminates pain. (Sedation dentistry may also be an option.) During the first visit, he carefully shaves away a small portion of the natural tooth structure to accommodate the veneer. He then takes a mold of the teeth and mouth, which he sends to the dental laboratory that will custom-craft the veneers. Finally, he places attractive temporary veneers, which the patient wears until the permanent ones are ready in about a week. At this point the patient returns for the second visit, during which Dr. Rubinstein removes the temporary veneers. He then places the permanent veneers and bonds them securely to the teeth. Finally, he ensures that the veneers fit inconspicuously with the surrounding teeth and bite and buffs them to a shine. The patient leaves our office with a stunning new smile.
